This lovely B&B is nestled in the little town of Frohna located in Perry County MO. This charming restored 100 year old home has elegant features. It has 3 luxurious bedrooms and spa like bathrooms. Sit a spell in the garden area and clear your mind of the hustle and bustle of city life.
In southeastern Perry County near the Mississippi River are the early German villages of Frohna and Altenburg. These communities have several activates going on throughout the year.
Located in Frohna is the Saxon Lutheran Memorial. It is dedicated to the preservation of the 1839 Saxon Immigration to Missouri. The memorial boast two original log houses, a large log barn, a collection of tools and antique farm machinery, a visitor’s center, country store and a gift shop.
The Saxon Lutheran Memorial is an outdoor history museum in the setting of a log cabin village. The Saxon Fall Festival is held in October. It features apple butter cooking, various arts and crafts and other entertainment. The 1st Saturday of each month a community baking is held in the stone outdoor ovens.
“The Biggest Little Fair in the Land” is held in September at the Altenburg Fairgrounds. Events include 4H Exhibits, livestock judging, crafts, jumping mule’s competition, tractor pulls, horse show and live entertainment.
The Old Timers Day is held in May. This event includes antique tractor and car show, tractor pull ,arts and crafts.
The East Perry County Community Rodeo is held each year in June. The rodeo is sanctioned by the IPRA & ACRA. It brings some of the best contestants throughout the county.
Just minutes from the B&B wineries are found nestled in quaint little areas. Experience the quiet pace of days gone by.
Just south, visit Tower Rock Natural Area, a designated national landmark, which features a 10 mile hiking trail. Tower Rock is a 60 foot high rock, which stands majestically in the Missippi River. The history of Tower Rock dates to 1698, when three missionaries established a landing atop the rocky island.
