Burr House was built by Lumen Burr in 1864. The 150 year old family home is now a Bed and Breakfast. The home has all of the original woodwork, three Italian marble fire places and one wood burning fire place. The first floor features double living room and parlor for guests. The parlors double french doors open out onto the private terrace that overlooks historic Franklin Park. Breakfast is served in the formal dining room. There is also a seven room basement where the laundry is located. The basement has all brick masonry walls and concrete and brick floors. There are two outside entances to the basement as well as an inside entrance. A three car garage is also located on the north end of the property. The yard features a privacy hedge on the west side and the south and east side have the original wrought iron fence. The north side features a beautiful row of blooming shrubs. Extensive perennial gardens surround the house and line the fence row. The burr House has been in operation for 17 years and is a profitable business. Burr House is two blocks from one university and a mile from a large state university. Located within two blocks of downtown Bloomington which features shopping, fine dining and antiques.
