The Barker House Bed & Breakfast was originally built in 1794 by Richard Knight, this brick encased log house is the second oldest structure in New Oxford and was a home of the prominent Hersh family for over 150 years. It is steeped in the history of New Oxford and in late June of 1863, it was occupied by Confederate General John B. Gordon of Georgia and his officers on the way to York and Wrightsville. Today, period pieces and family heirlooms create a comfortable elegance in this beautifully restored home.

Spend your days browsing New Oxford's antiques and specialty shoppes, touring the Gettysburg Battlefield or Lancaster Amish country, see the Hanover Shoe farms, play at nearby golf and ski facilities, or just relax!
