Captain's Quarters Inn
Offered for sale at $725,000
The Captain’s Quarters Inn, founded in 1994, is an eight guest room full service inn located on a residential street in the quaint historic town of Edenton, North Carolina. Known as “the South’s prettiest little town,” Edenton provides a base for visitors to enjoy the larger area. All eight rooms have private baths, and the inn boasts a huge and magnificent front porch tastefully furnished as an outdoor room.
At Captain’s Quarters, guests enjoy clean, comfortably furnished rooms and excellent food. One of the owners is a professionally trained chef and former restaurateur who prepares delicious breakfasts and special dinners with wine being an important focal point. The other owner has a background in California’s wine industry, so featuring fine wines is a personal pleasure, and the dinners fill an important gap in the local offerings.
Inn guests are a mixture of leisure and business travelers, and dinner guests include inn guests and locals. With a full commercial kitchen, the inn is licensed as a “supper club,” not a restaurant, which limits what they can do with meals to the public, but the license serves them well.
The current owners have operated the inn much as the previous owners did, selling rooms, providing limited dinners by reservation only, offering sailing, cooking, and golf packages, and hosting a few mystery weekends during otherwise quiet times. Being within a block of downtown Edenton, and three blocks to the yacht harbor and Albemarle Sound makes it possible to incorporate fun shopping and “poking around” Edenton part of the mystery weekend and a convenient feature for guests year round.
Captain’s Quarters Inn is the place to stay in Edenton for a comfortable, clean room, gracious hosts and delicious food in a superb location.
