This Mid-Victorian style residence has stained glass windows on both sides of the front entrance, above the front entrance and 2 inside the hall. All of the windows and casings were made of split pillar posts forming a peak at the top and the gable dormers had floral molding and exaggerated brackets.
Sea Bank was built on a hill by Robert Patterson Grant, a merchant from Scotland who later became a Senator in the Canadian Senate. It overlooks the then extremely busy harbour and railway of Pictou. The railway does not come to Pictou now but the station is a beautiful building across the road. Seabank House Bed and Breakfast is now a harmonious mix of historic charm and modern conveniences perfectly suited to the business of a BED & BREAKFAST. Second floor has 4 assorted room/bed sizes all with good size, modern private bathrooms which cater to a variety of budgets for guests from all over the world. We have a large comfortable living room for guests to relax/rest in, enjoy a cocktail or read a good book and an elegant dining room, with seating for 10, used at breakfast time. A 2pce bathroom is on the main level is also available Ample room in the kitchen for prep and cooking with a separated seating area for eating meals(hosts), 6 burner stove, built in dishwasher and large fridge. Large office/laundry room is an excellent space for administration work and works well as a large laundry space with washer and dryer plus room for linen storage
The private living area for hosts has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, living room and access to a quiet patio/backyard + a shed.
Basement is full height with storage and a workshop. 2 newer 200amp hydro services. Propane "on demand" hot water system. Upstairs we have heat pumps, great for air conditioning in the summer!!

Nearby Abercrombie Golf course (smoothest greens in Nova Scotia), Waterside & Melmerby Beaches. Our downtown shops offer a variety of options for our guests with several, very good restaurants! Also about 1 1/2 hours to New Brunswick, Cape Breton or Halifax we are close to some amazing places. About the same to Halifax Airport. The Town of Pictou is in the middle of creating a Super New Waterfront for our town, protecting the shoreline and adding an extension to the Jitney Trail all the way to the CN Train Station across from our house. A new Market Wharf with seating, landscaping, public art and vendor sites. Adding a Civic Area and accessible boardwalk. A marina with docks for boats with access to gas dock and water. A kayak launch....really exciting...shows this town is ready for more visitors!!!
