Living Room
The living room is large, well-lighted, and decorated in a colonial period furnishings. Located to the right of the large entrance foyer, it is great reading and conversations with guests. The fire place is welcome in cooler months.
Dining Room
The Dining Room, overlooking the grounds to the front, is spacious and airy. Seating is available for 6-8 at two separate tables. A scrumptious breakfast prepared by Julia in the adjacent kitchen, anytime up to 10 a.m. There is no fixed menu and you shall be asked the night before what you may like. You may invite guests if we have room.
Family Room
The family room is a large and less formal sitting room. It overlooks the gardens to the rear and is complemented with a second fireplace.
A full breakfast complements your stay. Julia, in partnership with her husband David as innkeepers, will prepare your favorites or pull from her resources as a culinary graduate and pastry chef for 25 years. Breakfast can be enjoyed inside or around the pool. Coffee and tea is left downstairs every morning so that guests may enjoy a cup in bed before having breakfast in the morning.
The rooms are traditionally furnished, but with modern touches. The wrought iron queen beds were custom made in Richmond. The house is centrally air conditioned, boasts high speed internet, wifi, and has a formal living room with fireplace or a cozy family room with gas fireplace to curl up next to in the cooler months.
The Master Suite
The Suite is the largest of our rooms. It features an iron queen bed, by Brass Beds of Virginia and other antiques of the period. There are second story views of the front and rear gardens. It includes private bath, double sinks and a large dressing area. There is a single bed off of the dressing area for a third guest (modest charge) that provides additional privacy for all. Rate is $150 per night, single or double occupancy. There is a discount for extended stays.
The Front Room
The Front Room This room is also large, but with somewhat more serene decor. It features a queen sleigh bed, also from Brass Beds of Virginia, large closets and views to the front of the grounds. It shares a bath across the hall with the Garden Room. Rate is $125 per night, single or double occupancy. $135 if private bath is arranged. This room may also be discounted for extended stays. If the Front Room and Garden Room are booked as a suite by one party, the rate is $ 215 per night.
The Garden Room
The Garden Room hosts a full sized antique bed and looks out on the back gardens and pool. A private bath cannot be guaranteed with this room. The nightly rate for the Garden Room is $115.
