This beautifully restored 6 br, 5 bath Victorian home is situated on 5+ acres with numerous oak and pecan trees. It is constructed from heart pine cut from the original 483 acre estate. When placed on the National Register, it was classified as a Carpenter Eclectic Victorian with Eastlake and Queen Anne elements. All interior door hardware and colored glass windows are intact. This elegant home has been completely restored inside and out with period colors, wallpaper, curtains, furniture and other décor.

When we purchased our home in 2002, our vision was to return the house to its original beauty and to operate a successful B&B and event center. We have accomplished and thoroughly enjoyed our endeavors.

The original home was constructed in 1893, then added to in 1903. The exterior trims have been scraped and repainted with the original paint scheme of the home. The downstairs has double parlors, a center hall, two bedrooms and two baths, large formal dining room, butler’s pantry, updated kitchen and a sun porch. The mouldings and wainscoting are outstanding throughout the entire home. A large deck with a gazebo is on the rear of the home. Heart pine floors are throughout the home.

The upstairs has a center hall, four bedrooms and three baths. An additional room adjoins the largest bedroom and can create an expansive living area. This room also opens to the second story gazebo, or belvedere as they were once called, which is on the front of the home. This could make a beautiful and roomy master suite.

There are permanent steps leading to the attic which is partially floored for additional storage. There is also attic space over the dining room, butler’s pantry and kitchen.

When altering our home for use as a B&B, we converted 2 bedroom closets into bathrooms. Alterations were made only on the closet floors and can easily and inexpensively be repaired should the new owners decide to return the home to its original design as a single family home.

Even though our home is extremely comfortable as a private residence, it is a prime piece of property that can be used as a B&B and expanded to an event center. The property includes two outbuildings adjacent to the house.

The old tobacco barn is wired and plumbed for a kitchen and bath. It would lend itself to a commercial kitchen, additional guest rooms or a conference/party/wedding area.

The old carriage house, built in 1903, has four bays and a tack room. This building could be used as a detached garage, converted to additional guest rooms or to a conference/party area. It has a hay loft/storage area running the entire length of the structure above the bays and tack room.

Moultrie is a growing city in need of a facility that can provide weddings and related activities,
private parties, and many other functions in the medium to upper price range. Moultrie is a charming small city in South Georgia and is centrally located between 4 larger major cities. The population is increasing and many new businesses are locating here. It is the center for the largest agriculture exposition in North America, a city that hosts many regional dive meets at its Olympic size diving facility, and hosts a craft and antique car show twice a year. It is also a good rest stop between the Florida Panhandle and Atlanta as well as Savannah and other cities along the Gulf coastline.

Furnishings and items associated with operating a B&B may be purchased as well as a tractor and mowing equipment. A list of these items as well as upgrades to the property will be provided upon request.
