A meandering stream, in ground pool and hot tub complete the relaxed outdoor haven the Cornwall Inn offers. The original Main Inn circa 1821, has four guest rooms and a two-bedroom suite. The separate Country Lodge motel building, has eight guest rooms. The rooms are nicely appointed with classic and contemporary décor and amenities for today’s traveler. All rooms have private baths, most have either a king or queen bed and four rooms are suited for families with two beds. The Country Lodge rooms are pet friendly.
Inside there is plenty of common space for guests. The breakfast room with adjacent screened porch overlooking the pool and the gathering room with a cozy fireplace and soft seating create a comfortable and homey setting for guests. The Inn and its tavern also serve as a full-service restaurant for private parties and events but is completely equipped to do public dining. The large commercial kitchen is the envy of all local chefs.
The Inn draws many visitors from New York City (a scenic two-hour drive) who wish to escape to the country. Several private boarding schools, such as Kent School, South Kent School, Marvelwood, Hotchkiss, Forman School and The Gunnery, are nearby. Families, alumni and prospective students frequent the inn regularly. Because of its close proximity to Limerock Race track, the inn also attracts race teams and fans from all over the country. Just minutes away, the Appalachian Trail and Mohawk Ski resort make the Cornwall Inn a year-round destination.
