Pheasant Field Bed & Breakfast is a federal style farmhouse built between 1800 and 1810. The B&B sits on two parcels, about 10.5 acres. The farmhouse, cottage, barn and corncrib sit on 8.2 acres, and the 2.3 acre lot across the street includes a pond, labyrinth, and several gardens. There is also a paved surface for tented events, land for parking up to 300 guests, parking for horse trailers, solar panels for hot water and pasture for horses.
The B&B consists of four guest rooms in the historic section of the house, a 2005 addition with three guest rooms and a separate cottage for a total of eight guest rooms. The owners' quarters is located privately on the third floor of the Inn. In addition to these rooms, there is a private office, an open kitchen and dining room as well as a cozy den that features a gas fireplace and opens to a large brick patio (and contains a secret passageway left from the Underground railroad).
The stone barn (also quite historic) is a working barn for horse boarding with 10 stalls, a tack room, workshop, garage, hay storage and equipment storage. The horse hotel features two paddocks, three box stalls and trailer parking.
This B&B sits just a few miles outside Carlisle PA, a great central location in PA. Carlisle is home to Dickinson College and School of Law, and the US Army War College. And, Carlisle is famous for its numerous car shows and auctions. These attractions plus its great crossroads location for travelers provide numerous overnight guests, not to mention the great site for events!
