HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT! Lone Star Farm is Texas history personified. Positioned on 12.9 acres in the Central Texas town of Round Top sits the perfect combination of rugged simplicity yet stylish charm of Lone Star Farm. The significantly historic main home, cabins and entertainment barn are shaded by massive live oaks and huge pecan trees. Relics from 19th and 20th century punctuated with all things Texana fill each of the 4 structures on the property.

A magnificent live oak, centuries old and one of 5 on the property, perfectly shades the generous front porch of the low-slung Civil War era farmhouse. A classic piece of Texas-German architecture, the main home, built during the Civil War in 1863 by a German immigrant, was initially a 2-room dogtrot flanking an open hallway fashioned of heartwood cedar logs. One hundred years later the addition of a kitchen, bath, laundry and bedrooms brought this piece of history into the current century. The antique steep stairs give way to 1 bedroom and a large loft bedroom with private access to the outside. A wood-burning free-standing fireplace in the living room warms the house on cold winter nights. The dining room is decked with Texas farm furniture - a 9-foot-long pine table, German pie safe, dry sink and windows decorated with antlers draped with homespun swags. Dining benches were salvaged from an old, rural Texas church. Thanksgiving at this table is reminiscent of long ago holidays. Other features include a copper claw foot tub, an Elmira range and Heartland wall ovens. The floors of long-leaf and knotty pine and white washed ship-lap walls are a backdrop for a significant collection of antique and primitive furnishings and collectibles.

Olma’s Cabin, an early 20th century one room house sleeps family or guests. The cabin has a welcoming front porch, full bath with a claw foot tub and a large walk-in closet. The walls are original bead board and heart pine. The six-over-six antique windows have the original glass.

The oldest building on the property is a 2-story log cabin built in 1830. Adorned with original log wall, a ceiling high stone fireplace forms the centerpiece of the living room. Fall asleep in the upstairs bedroom under a plaster ceiling knowing that you're living the life of a modern day pioneer. The bath includes the must have claw foot tub!

The 4th structure is an entertainment delight - a barn originally built in 1860. It now features a full kitchen with a commercial Garland range, wine cooler, small cold drinks and full-size refrigerator. The main room includes an 9-ft dining table, a bar and a lovely sitting area which opens to large wooden deck. A covered patio and grilling area ensures that the party will go on regardless of the weather.

Along winding stone pathways that connect the buildings, you'll walk under magnificent old trees. Amazing remnants of a log smokehouse remain behind the main house and 2 hand-dug wells original to the property add to the charm. There is a garage for storing equipment, a well house and a small storage building. All 4 main structures have central air and heat. Two wells service the houses and the irrigation system which is used to water the lawns and Texas native plants. An additional 7 acres of pastureland and woods offers the opportunity for expansion. The property will be sold turn-key.
