Enter through the front mahogany doors and let your senses be delighted by the high decorative tin ceilings and moray fabric that runs up the beautifully restored staircase. Walk through the original pocket doors into the front sitting room, with a beautiful antique onyx fireplace and muslin fabric on the walls. Continue through a second set of original pocket doors and you will find a second twin antique onyx fireplace and a custom display cabinet, with interior lighting, an Alabaster chandelier and muslin fabric on the walls. Perfect for a dining room and displaying your tablewares. Continue down a small hallway, with vaulted ceiling and a 1/2 bath tucked to the side. Enter the back room, with original tin ceilings, white Opaline chandelier, exit to the courtyard, and a second staircase leading to the second floor. This room was previously a kitchen and the infrastructure is still intact in the basement, allowing for an easy conversion back to a kitchen, if desired. The second floor houses 4 bedrooms and a full bathroom. Almost all entry doors on this floor have inlaid etched glass in them. The bathroom houses an original Thomas Crapper toilet/tank, original marble sink, plumbed water meter and a majolica plaque inside the shower. The back bedroom has a circa 1870's French bronze chandelier and the entry door boasts an etching of a lion's head from England. The middle and front bedrooms are separated by mirrored french doors and would make for a wonderfully large suite, suitable for several beds and sofa in front of the decorative fireplace. The entry door on the middle bedroom contains a solid white panel to match the antique milk glass fixture in the room. The front entry door contains a floral etching from the midwest and the large front bedroom houses a crystal chandelier. The small front bedroom has an original tin ceiling and the entry door has an inlaid etching of Napoleon on horseback. Climb the stairs to the third floor and discover a cherry kitchen and granite countertops, and a circa 1880 antique Victorian builtin hutch, with matching granite top. The kitchen flows directly into a dining/living/media space, all of which are open. The third floor bathroom houses an Ariel steam shower, which has stereo, steam, aromatherapy and chromotherapy. With a bedroom on this floor , it lends itself perfectly as the owner/operator's living space. Other original features include wood flooring, moldings, and bannisters. This building has had extensive work completed by Architectural restoration expert, John Hanna. John's clientele speak to the level of his mastery and include Stair Galleries, Sotheby's Antiques, John Hopkins Museum, as well as, private estates and clients in Manhattan and Greenwich. Additional restorations/improvements include: antique lighting fixtures, rebuilt double pane windows with original frames, Art Nouveau stained glass, moray and muslin fabric on walls, gallery track throughout, central air, security camera system, and alarm system.
